Music I love to work too.
This is one of those things that i simply had to blog about, even if it has nothing to do with my professional life. Well it does in a sense. I saw this on lifehack.com, and i thought it was something that i simply had to pass on.

I’m not going to give an in depth critique of the music of Philip Glass here, suffice to say that i love his music very much, it is subtlety beautiful and very easy to give all or your attention too, or you can allow it to seep in unconsciously as you work as beautiful repetitive patterns of sound. Really good stuff.
Anyways… put on the iPod and back to work!
Or read about other albums i love to work too…
I generally like to listen to something with a slightly dark ambient hypnotic edge, band like Sunn O)) and Earth, or Aphex Twin. I don’t think that will quite have the universal appeal of Philip Glass.
Just about the only thing that i can’t stand to listen to is Radio 1 :S. Too much inane chatter!
I believe that peoples productivity drops in noisy work places and think some clever experts have discovered that listening to music on headphones returns the productivity to that of a quite workplace. I have certainly noticed that listening to iPods in design environments has become more and more encouraged.
OK! so i know this really isn’t going to fly with everyone that likes easygoing pop in the ear-buds to get down to work, but music can be a really subjective thing, it’s kind of incredible how the tonic that will make work fun and productive can really destroy the work place.
Here are some of the other Albums i like to listen to while i work..
So what the deal? do you listen to music while you work? Or does your boss not let you? If you want to tell me about some of the music you like to work too, just drop in to the comments.
